Apricot

Apricot

Did you know?

The Romans called it 'praecoquum, which means 'early', probably because the apricot tree flowers very early in the spring.

Originally from northern China, where they are known to have been growing in the wild 5,000 years ago, apricots were introduced to the West by Alexander the Great, via the famous Silk Road. Later, Arabs propagated them throughout the Mediterranean, notably in southern Spain, where they quickly became established due to the very favourable climate.

At Vitabio, we found some in France, in the heart of the beautiful Occitanie region!
