Strawberry
Did you know?
Strawberries are not really a fruit! The red fleshy part is actually the receptacle of the flower, and the fruits are the small yellow grains on the surface: the achenes.
The return of strawberries to market stalls each spring is a great delight! They restore colour to our plates, and above all, provide us with a good dose of vitamin C with antioxidant properties. And there's no need to hold back: they're very low in calories!
Good to know: in organic farming, strawberries must be grown in open ground.
