Lavender

Did you know?

Lavender is a genus of plants in the Lamiaceae family.

They are shrubs with predominantly mauve or purple flowers arranged in spikes. They mainly grow on dry and sunny limestone soils, in Drôme, for example.

Very fragrant plants, they are widely used in all branches of perfumery.

Originally from the Mediterranean, lavender has been used since Roman times in storing linen and to perfume baths.
