The Agen prune benefits from a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status! This distinction guarantees that Agen prunes are obtained exclusively from plum orchards planted in the demarcated production area and that they are dried, packed and processed by companies located in this same area.
Prunes are actually plums that have been dried after being harvested when ripe, which gives them their distinctive character! At Vitabio, we use only Agen PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) prunes grown within a radius of 100 km of our manufacturing site.
The prune has a moderate glycemic index, combined with a large amount of fibre, in a good mix of soluble and insoluble fibres. It is also rich in potassium and vitamin K1.
